Once you have owned an animal, you learn their moods and although they can't talk, they do. The same can be said with the wild life that come to the garden, the bigger the animal/bird the more one understands them.

Just seen a soulful sight, and can't read the signs yet.. There has always been resident crow/rook family since we have been here, It may be the next generation following the previous one but winter, summer, wind and rain the pair of them are always in the area, some times they are not speaking to each other some times quite close, but always in each others sight. This morning only one Confused

Calling to it's mate. Bobbing up and down, breaking twigs off the walnut tree. It really looks distressed, not got the usual bounce. You know what I mean.

I do hope the cold has not done for the mate.

I have been at my "work station" ( in other words looking out the window) for three hours, Can see birds a showing signs of pairing off, but no sight of either crow - rather sad. Sad

I suppose "Grandma P" will be cleaning out her nest box ready for this year brood, Confused

Do birds suffer from PMT? Confused

Got back last night, sky red and the air still, and Whooppei two crows back; definitely not speaking, in-fact in two different trees - "eye balling" each other, as the sun went down, quite romantic except one could feel the tension. Had a eureka moment in the middle of the night, probably the same time Jacqui was VICing her feet Razz

Last year the willow next door was lowered by 40ft. Their old nest was in that 40ft. She was basically saying No "Hanky Panky" till I see you start to build a new home, and he was hanging out for as long as he dared without having his "conjicles" chopped off. Rolling Eyes

They are now in the same tree - Just Wink
